Meet our Production Staff:
Kevin J. Barnard (Director) has been working for many years in the Twin Cities as a professional actor and director/choreographer. Most notable are the dozen plus productions he has done with Chanhassen Dinner Theater. Directing credits include; Old Log Theater, Actor’s Theater of Minnesota, Lyric Arts Theater, Classic Arts Dinner Theater, Royal Caribbean Cruises, North High School, RVTC, Waconia Show Choir, Maple Grove H.S., and Production Coordinator for A Clay Aikens Christmas. Kevin was also commission by Knott’s-Berry Farms in 1992 to write and direct a festhaus show for the grand opening of the Mall of America.
Kevin wrote and produced 16 shows for the Cabaret Club at the Albert Lea Inn for a 5 year run, and also proudly survived 4 years of travelling on cruise ships performing and touring the world. Aside from stage performances, additional creative work has been published in two books. He recently enjoyed teaching music and drama at Stages Theater, and is the Education Director at Chanhassen Dinner Theater.
Derick Rehurek (Music Director) is an active musician and educator originally from Yankton, South Dakota. A graduate of the University of South Dakota, he studied with the celebrated soloist and pedagogue, John Thomson. Derick has also studied conducting with numerous performers including Matthew Harden, Henry Charles Smith III, and Bruce Earnest of the International Performing Arts Institute. Before moving to Minnesota, Rehurek served three years as the Music Director of the Sioux Empire Youth Orchestra in South Dakota. He has been a guest conductor with the Northwestern Iowa Strings Festival, and recently conducted “Spring Awakening” with the Minnesota Chapter of the International Thespian Society. Derick currently teaches a private studio across the metro, and is the Adjunct Instructor of Violin/Viola at RCTC in Rochester, MN. He is the Assistant Conductor for the Minnesota Philharmonic and an Associate Conductor of the Woodbury Chorus and Orchestra. As a violinist, he performs with the Minnesota Philharmonic, the Gilbert & Sullivan Very Light Opera Company, the Dakota Valley Symphony and many pit orchestras.
Renee Guittar (Choreographer) is a dancer, choreographer, producer, and dance educator originally from Lincoln, Nebraska. Renee performs with Collide Theatrical Dance Company and nationally touring illusionist Jared Sherlock. This past summer, Renee performed in “The Music Man” at the Guthrie Theater. This winter, Renee will be performing in “The Wedding Singer” at The Old Log Theater and in “A Chorus Line” at the Ordway. Renee has presented choreography with Young Artists Initiative, the Zenon Dance Zone, Gustavus Adolphus College and at venues such as Patrick’s Cabaret, Theatre in the Round, and The Ritz Theater. Renee teaches at numerous dance schools including Zenon Dance School, Stage Left Dance Co., and the Phipps Center for the Arts. Renee received a B.A. in Dance with Honors from Gustavus Adolphus College in 2012.
